Daughters of Darkness
Three sisters named Rowan, Kestrel and Jade move into the dilapidated old house next to Mark and Mary-Lynnette Carter in Briar Creek, Oregon, and the town has never seen anything like their supernatural grace.
About
Daughters of Darkness is a novel by the American writer L. J. Smith, published in 1996. It belongs to her Night World sequence, in which vampires, witches and shapeshifters live secretly among human beings.
Briar Creek, Oregon, gets three new residents: Rowan, Kestrel and Jade, sisters who move into the dilapidated old house next door to Mark and Mary-Lynnette Carter. There is something about their grace and their beauty that nobody in the town has met before, and the neighbours start to notice.
Mark is obsessed with Jade, and the sisters have a secret that his sister Mary-Lynnette begins to work out. When the two of them follow the girls into the woods at night they are drawn into something far worse than a local mystery, because the sisters are fugitives from the Night World and their brother Ash is following them. He has orders to bring the girls back whatever it costs, and when he sees Mary-Lynnette he decides that he wants something else as well. The novel is one book in a sequence about the same hidden world.
