Dark Witch
Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance, and from her maternal grandmother she learned where to find both: County Mayo in Ireland.
About
Dark Witch is a novel by Nora Roberts, published in 2013. Its central character, Iona Sheehan, has spent her life wanting devotion and acceptance, and her grandmother told her where to look for them.
The place is County Mayo in Ireland, and Iona goes there with three things: her grandmother's directions, an optimism that does not falter, and an innate talent with horses. The journey is the first thing she has done purely on the strength of somebody else's advice.
In Ireland she finds her cousins, Branna and Connor O'Dwyer, who invite her into their lives. When she takes a job at the local stables she meets the owner, Boyle McGrath, and begins to understand that she can live her life as she has always wanted to.
The novel is the first of a sequence about the cousins and the magic that belongs to their family, and it is concerned with a woman who has moved countries to find out whether what she was told would be there is really there.
