Dark Song
Stolen from her home as a child and tormented for centuries, Elisabeta Trigovise has been rescued and is safe inside the Carpathian compound, but she has lived in fear so long that she does not know how to live without it.
About
Dark Song is a paranormal romance by the American writer Christine Feehan, published in 2020. It belongs to her Carpathian series, and its central figure is a woman who has been held captive for most of a very long life.
Elisabeta Trigovise was stolen from her home when she was young and tormented for centuries. She has been rescued and is now living inside the Carpathian compound, but fear has organised her existence for so long that she has no idea how to live without it, and she cannot bring herself to answer the call of the man she is bound to.
Ferro Arany spent his long life as a warrior without feeling, and the awakening of his senses has left him certain that soft words will not be enough. He decides to lend Elisabeta his strength until she can find her own, and to let her set the pace. The vampire who kept her captive has not finished with her and wants to take back what he believes belongs to him. Feehan moves between the two of them, so that recovering from captivity is shown as work rather than as a single rescue.
