For a long time the vampire world has repeated a rumour about a dark slayer, a woman who travels with a pack of wolves and destroys any vampire who crosses her path.

About

Dark Slayer is a paranormal romance novel by Christine Feehan, published in 2009. Its central character, Ivory Malinov, is the subject of a rumour that has persisted in the vampire world for a very long time: a dark slayer, and a woman.

The rumour has her travelling with a pack of wolves and destroying any vampire who crosses her path. She is described as mysterious, elusive and seemingly impossible to kill, which makes her the one hunter who strikes terror into the undead rather than the other way around.

The wolves are her only brethren. Long ago she was betrayed by her own people, abandoned by her family and cast out by everyone she held dear, and she has lived for centuries without companionship or love of any kind.

What has kept her sane is preparation. Ivory has sustained herself by training for one purpose, and the novel is about what becomes of a purpose that has been the whole of a person's life when something else arrives to compete with it.
