Dark Peril
Dominic of the Dragonseekers, one of the most powerful of the Carpathian lines, is desperate to reach the heart of the enemy camp and learn what they are planning.
About
Dark Peril is a paranormal romance novel by Christine Feehan, published in 2010. Dominic belongs to the Dragonseeker lineage, one of the most powerful of the Carpathian lines, and he volunteers for a mission that has no return.
To reach the centre of the enemy camp and learn their plans he has to ingest the parasitic blood of a vampire. He knows what that means: he will have only a short time before the blood takes effect, and his plan is to get the information he needs, pass it to the leader of the Carpathians and then go out fighting.
Dying that way is described as the most honourable end available to him, and that is how he frames the decision. Solange Sangria is one of the last of the jaguar people, and her presence changes what the mission is for.
The novel sets a man with a defined and limited amount of time against a new reason to want more of it, and it belongs to the sequence of Carpathian stories in which the dangerous assignment and the meeting with a lifemate arrive at the same moment.
