Dark Blood

Dark Blood is a paranormal romance novel by Christine Feehan, published in 2014. Its central figure, Zev Hunter, is an elite warrior whose work is the killing of rogue Lycans, and he has never given himself over to personal attachments of any kind.

Zev begins to question his past and his purpose when he wakes in the darkness of the sacred cave of warriors, where he is brought back to consciousness by a voice he recognises. The woman is Branislava, a member of the Dragonseeker clan, and she has been present in his fantasies for centuries without either of them being able to act on it.

The novel is concerned with what Zev is now that he has been called back, and with the connection between him and the woman who has been with him in his mind for so long. Whatever returned him also left him doubting the work he has done his whole life, and the book treats that uncertainty as the problem the story has to solve.
