Dark Angel
Heaven Leigh Casteel comes to live in her grandmother's house in Boston, where she expects friends, good schools, beautiful clothes and love, and a chance to make the family name respectable and to find her brothers and sisters.
About
Dark Angel is a novel by the American writer V. C. Andrews, published in 1986.
Heaven Leigh Casteel arrives in Boston to live in her grandmother's large house, believing that she has left the contempt and the poverty of her earlier life behind her. She expects the best schools, fine clothes and, more than any of it, love, and she intends to find her scattered brothers and sisters and to make something respectable of the Casteel name. The wealth she has joined does not behave the way she imagines. There are forebodings in the house and subjects the family has decided are better left alone, and as she reaches for affection she is caught instead in deceit and in passions that nobody has admitted to.
The novel is domestic horror rather than supernatural horror. It belongs to the run of family stories that made the author's name.
