Dare To Be Scared Thirteen Stories To Chill And Thrill
This collection holds thirteen scary stories for younger readers, illustrated throughout.
About
Dare To Be Scared is a collection of thirteen scary stories by the American writer Robert D. San Souci, published in 2003 by Cricket Books as an illustrated collection.
The stories are meant to be read aloud and in company. The collection includes ghost stories, jump stories of the kind that are told for the fright at the end, dark fantasy and science fiction, and the settings are deliberately ordinary: schools, bedrooms, campfires and the walk home in the dark. Several of the pieces draw on legends, folklore and cultural traditions, and the book is illustrated throughout. The same author had already gathered a much larger set of chilling tales for the same readership in an earlier collection. A number of the entries finish with a jolt rather than a resolution.
