Hercule Poirot is old and in a wheelchair, and he has taken a room at Styles, the country house where he investigated his first case in England.

About

Curtain is a detective novel by the English writer Agatha Christie, first published in the United Kingdom by the Collins Crime Club in September 1975 and in the United States by Dodd, Mead later the same year. It is the last novel she published in her lifetime.

The book returns Poirot and Captain Hastings to Styles, the house where The Mysterious Affair at Styles took place, and it reunites the two of them for the first time since 1937. Poirot is near the end of his life and confined to a wheelchair when he summons Hastings, and his reason is a certainty that a murder is about to be committed in the house. The guests look pleasant enough to Hastings, among them his own daughter Judith, a quiet birdwatcher named Norton and a well-dressed man called Allerton, and the two of them settle in among people whose business Poirot refuses to explain in the terms the police would need.

Christie wrote the novel as a country house mystery of the classic kind, with a closed set of suspects and a murder that takes place inside one building, and it was adapted for television in 2013.
