Caressed By Ice (The Psy-Changeling Series, Book 3)

Caressed by Ice is a paranormal romance by the New Zealand writer Nalini Singh, published in 2007. It is the third book in her Psy-Changeling series, and it returns to a world in which two kinds of people, the Psy and the changelings, are supposed to keep apart.

Brenna Shane Kincaid was an innocent before a serial-killing Psy abducted her, violated her mind and sent her home changed into something she cannot recognise as herself. Judd Lauren is a telekinetic and a defector from the Psy Council, trained as an Arrow, an elite soldier of the Council who was made to do terrible things in the name of his people.

Those abilities have made him the deadliest of assassins, cold and pitiless and unfeeling, and he is the only person who can help her with what was done to her. The novel works on the two of them at once, a woman learning to trust her own mind again and a man discovering that he can care about someone, and it keeps the danger around them live while they do it.
