Book Lovers

Emily Henry's Book Lovers is set in the publishing world. Nora Stephens is a literary agent in New York who has built a hard professional reputation, and she has spent her adult life making sacrifices for her younger sister, Libby. The two of them were raised by a single mother who died while Libby was in high school. When Libby, now pregnant, asks for a month away in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina, the small town where her favourite book is set, Nora agrees to go with her, and the holiday is meant to be for her sister's sake.

Sunshine Falls turns out to be full of people Nora had not planned to see again. Charlie Lastra is a book editor she is not on good terms with in the city, and he is from the town and is staying there, running the local bookstore, which belongs to his parents, in order to help them out. The two of them end up working together on a manuscript while the month in the small town runs on.

Book Lovers was published in 2022. On 28 March 2023 Tango Entertainment bought the rights to make a film adaptation, with Sarah Heyward attached to write the screenplay.
