All Night Long
Irene Stenson left the small northern California town of Dunsley seventeen years ago, on the night she found her parents dead in the kitchen and the deaths were ruled a murder and a suicide.
About
All Night Long is a novel by the American writer Jayne Ann Krentz, published in 2005 and set in a small town in northern California.
Irene is a journalist who has spent her adult life away from the place she grew up in, and she returns because Pamela Webb asked for help in a message that did not explain what kind of help she needed. Pamela dies suddenly, and the death is treated as an accident by everyone except the people who knew her best. Irene stays, against her own judgement, and starts asking about the night seventeen years earlier, the hotel her parents ran and the secrets of the families that own the town. Krentz writes the book as romantic suspense, and the man who ends up helping Irene has his own reasons for wanting the truth about the same years.
It is one of the author's standalone suspense novels, written between the longer-running series for which she is known, and the romance carries as much of the plot as the investigation does.
