After Sundown
Tina and her sister Moira have been indulged by their stepfather for years, and neither of them has ever had to earn a living.
About
After Sundown is a romance novel by the English writer Anne Hampson, published in 1973 by Mills and Boon. She wrote more than a hundred novels for the publisher over several decades.
Tina and her sister have grown up being given whatever they asked for by their stepfather Austin, which is why neither of them has a job or any plan for getting one. The holiday they decide to take in Menorca is expected to be paid for in the usual way, and their assumption is overturned when Austin's son Charles becomes involved in the family's affairs. The novel follows the consequences for Tina, who has to work out what she is able to do without the money she has always relied on, and the relationship that develops with a man who has no patience for the life she has been living. Hampson wrote in the classic Mills and Boon form, with an exotic setting, a strong-minded older man and a heroine whose problem is partly of her own making.
The author was one of the most prolific writers of the period's category romance, and her books were published in large numbers in Britain and overseas.
