10th Anniversary
Detective Lindsay Boxer is called away from her wedding celebrations to a crime: a teenage girl has been left badly injured and her newborn baby is missing.
About
10th Anniversary is a crime novel by the American writer James Patterson, published in 2011. It is the tenth book in the Women's Murder Club series.
The series follows four women in San Francisco: a homicide detective, an assistant district attorney, a medical examiner and a reporter. In this book Lindsay Boxer is newly married, and the wedding celebration is cut short when she is called to a case in which an injured teenage girl has been left for dead and her newborn baby cannot be found. There is no trace of the people responsible, and the girl herself appears to be keeping something back. At the same time Yuki Castellano is prosecuting a woman accused of murdering her husband in front of their two young children, a case her career depends on winning, and when Lindsay turns up evidence that could help the defendant she has to decide whether to trust her friend or her own reading of the case. Boxer's work is watched closely by her new boss, Lieutenant Jackson Brady, and the pressure of the investigation begins to interfere with her marriage.
Patterson writes the Women's Murder Club books in short chapters that move between the four women, and the series is built around their professional lives as much as around the cases they work.
