Black Myth: Wukong Sparks, Stances and Skills

Earn and reuse every Spark
Sparks are the points used to unlock and upgrade abilities, stance moves, spell perks and transformation talents. You earn one whenever you level up. A Meditation Spot also awards one Spark the first time you use it, so short side paths can produce an immediate build upgrade.
No Spark allocation is permanent. Visit a Keeper’s Shrine and choose Self-Advance -> Reignite the Sparks to reclaim every Spark, one category, or individual nodes. The reset costs nothing. If the menu is missing, spend a Spark first; the shrine option appears after you have something to reclaim.
That freedom makes a failed boss attempt useful. Move a few points toward the resource or move you needed, try again, and restore the earlier setup later.
Unlock the stances in order
| Stance | Availability | Practical use |
|---|---|---|
| Smash | Available from the start | Mobile charged heavies and direct close-range punishes |
| Pillar | Unlockable at level 5 for one Spark | Elevation over some ground attacks and a different heavy-attack angle |
| Thrust | Unlockable at level 20 for one Spark | Long reach and straight-line spacing |
After a stance is unlocked, you can switch to it during combat. Pillar’s elevation does not avoid every attack, and sitting on the staff drains stamina, so treat it as an answer to a readable ground threat rather than permanent safety.
Build for the next attempt
Start by fixing the failure you can name. Stamina passives help when a combo leaves no room to dodge. A stance node helps only if you use the move it changes. Spell nodes become relevant after the underlying spell has been earned through an encounter, NPC or quest; Sparks improve those spells but do not buy the base spell itself.
Ring of Fire is not an opening-hours option. It arrives in Chapter 3, so an early build should use the tools already unlocked, especially Smash Stance and Immobilize. Getting Started maps those first Chapter 1 choices. Transformations, Spirits & Vessels separates their resource meters.
