Choose a Faction and Ascend

On this page

AION 2 asks you to choose your faction and ascend as a Daeva, then puts a faction war in the middle of everything else you do.

The world is the scale of it

A comparison of AION 2's PvE, with solo instances and over 200 dungeons, against the faction war played as a flying Daeva, with the Abyss linking them.

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 across a world 36 times larger than the original AION, and it is PC only. Since verticality is described as being in its DNA, the size matters less than the fact that this space has an axis the original never used this way.

PvE and faction war sit together

The Abyss ensures that PvE and faction war are never far apart, according to the store. That is the structural choice worth knowing before you settle into a routine, because the content you grind and the players you fight are sharing the same map rather than being kept in separate queues.

What keeps a season moving

Seasonal challenges, competitive rankings and open-world events are all named as part of the loop, alongside player-versus-environment content that runs from solo instances to large-scale raids. A live game needs reasons to come back weekly, and those three are the ones the store chooses to name.

How the fights actually work is covered in fighting in three dimensions. What the content schedule looks like is covered in running dungeons and Shugo festivals.
